Bye Bye Bunnie
Personal Project
For this picture book project, “Bye-Bye Bunnie”,
I aim make it approachable as its purpose as children book for 5-8 years old. Thus, I chose to depict a story about letting go of her favourite toy. I got an inspiration from Surrealism and my childhood memory.
Character Design
​Melanie is an chinese asian 5-6 year-old girl. She got dark hair against her light skin. As story occures at night time I decide her to wear pajamas or cozy t-shirt and pants.
Alice is basically based on Alice in wonderland character which she got noticable color palette from yellow blonde hair and blue dress. However, when I put her in the scene she lacks of contrast and almost blend in with others. Thus, I added a pattern and small area of daker color on her dress to solve this designed problem.
